- Does the Govt. show guts to demolish mosques obstructing highways or even ordinary roads ?
Varanasi : Saints and Seers from Varanasi, which is the Constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are displeased with BJP. They are opposing to the proposed ‘Vishwanath Mahamarg’ because 20 small temples are going to be demolished for construction of this road. They are therefore, even planning to stage agitations. (It is shameful for the Govt. for forcing Saints to take the path of agitations ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) The proposed highway will also said to be an attempt for development of Varanasi city.
1. Saints feel that Modi Government was trying to spoil this ancient city and her existing beauty. Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati had earlier led the agitations staged on behalf of Saints.
2. Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati says that on one hand Modi Government wanted to construct Ram-Mandir at Ayodhya and on the other hand, it was making plans to demolish more than 20 small temples.
3. Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has further stated that big agitation would soon be staged against BJP Government. There will be widespread opposition if our temples were demolished or their form was changed.
4. A committee has been set up for protecting temples and heritage structures (Dharohar bachao Samiti). Shankaracharya Swami Swarupanand Saraswati of Dwarka and ‘Jyotish Peetha’ will also join the fight for protection of temples. He has appointed Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati as his representative who is also the successor of Shankaracharya.
