Mumbai (Maharashtra) : We do not have the authority to change the name of any city; for that we need the sanction of the Central Government. Hence is not appropriate to take any action which might disrupt peace in the society and it is illegal too. ( When Dadoji Konddev’s statue was removed in the middle of the night and the whole of Maharashtra including District Pune was at stake was not the peace of the society disrupted then? Why not Madan Bafna advised this legal aspect to the party men in Pune Municipal Corporation? – Editor SP)
Any act in the interest of somebody is inappropriate. Hence the act of removing Dadoji Konddev’s statue is appropriate; but naming Aurangabad as ‘Sambhajinagar’ is an act of jealousy and is a misdeed, said spokesperson of Nationalist Congress, said Madan Bafna in a journalist conference. (Since there was a definite possibility of getting a stay order in the court proceedings, Municipal Corporation of Nationalist Congress cut off the statue of Dadoji Konddev hurriedly at night. Then why those who call this act as proper are against naming Aurangabad as Sambhajinagar? Why do the leaders of Nationalist Congress feel that if the name of Aurangjeb is removed then social peace might get disturbed? What relation do they have with Aurangjeb? Hindus are not fools not to understand that this appeasement on the part of Nationalist Congress is only for securing votes ! Editor SP)

Pro-Muslim Congress councilors oppose
In the year 1995, a resolution was passed to the above effect during the regime of coalition of BJP and Shiv Sena but after they lost power, the Congress-led Government disproved this proposal. The municipal councilors of both the Congress parties shifted the statue of Dadoji Konddev from Lal Mahal in Pune. The special general body meeting was held to give an apt reply to such move of the Congress. As the meeting started, the Congress councilors created pandemonium by demanding that the ‘Chikhalthana’ Airport should have been named after ‘Gautam Buddha’. (The Congressmen should first clarify that why they are against the name of Sambhaji Maharaj. Nehru had called Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a robber; therefore, it is necessary that the anti-Hindu tradition of secular (unrighteous) Congressmen is eliminated; but Hindus need to unite for the same. – Editor SP) The councilors of coalition passed the resolution amidst slogans hailing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj.
The meeting was adjourned in few minutes; but the slogans were still going on. It is being said all over the State that the Hindu-hatred shown by the Congress in Pune Municipal Corporation has been aptly answered.
