Respect National Flag: Bengaluru campaign gets spontaneous public support

Bengaluru (Karnataka) : A memorandum stating that ‘insult of National Flag taking place on Republic Day by way of sale of plastic flags that are strewn all over the roads leading to their trampling should be stopped’ was submitted to Mr.Siddaiah, the Commissioner of Bengaluru Brihath Mahanagara Palike on the 20th of January 2011. Mr. Chandra Moger along with members of HJS and public were present while the memorandum was submitted. The Commissioner also appreciated the efforts of the HJS after seeing the flex with regard to create awareness. Mr.Siddaiah regretted as to what state the country has degenerated that ‘we have to give a circular asking the public to maintain the Honour of the National Flag’.

Earlier Mr. Chandra Moger sent sms to select group of Devout Hindus need to create awareness through Flex and hand bills for maintaining honour of National flag. In response, within 24 hours many devout Hindus came forward to sponsor more than 10000 hand bills, 10flex of 6X4feet and about 20 small flex. Mr.Nagesh flex printer printed 10 small flex free and also promised to print more from the profits he got from the orders on hand.

Mr.S.P.Shanbhag, retired official not only sponsored 5000 hand bills, but also arranged to have lectures in the school near his house.

HJS has planned to display flex with empty boxes beside it at an elevated place in different areas with request to public to collect the flags which have been thrown on roads or are disfigured and put it in the box. Awareness will also be created through VCD to be shown on local cable channels and in schools along with lectures and quiz programmes.

The Samiti has planned to hold press meet in this connection on the 22nd January 2011 at the Press Club of Bangulure at 1 p.m.
