Hassan and Kushalnagar (Karnataka) : On behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti a discourse was held on 14th January 2011 at Hassan, Karnataka for the members of Stree Shakti Sangh, about ‘Sankranti‘. A VCD highlighting the science behind the various customs and traditions related to Sankranti was also exhibited. The program ended with the distribution of ‘Tilgul‘, a sweet made of sugar and gingili oil seed (sesame).
A similar discourse on ‘Sankranti‘ was held at the Someshvara temple in Kushalanagar, Karnataka on the occasion of Sankranti. An exhibition of the holy books published by Sanatan Sanstha was also arranged at the venue. Miss Deepti did the compeering; Mr Amrut Raj spoke about the objectives and activities of the Samiti. Mrs. Sharmila delivered the discourse that included details about the science behind the various customs and traditions related to Sankranti
