Why BJP does not call for a ‘Bandh’ to save temples ? – Gabladka

Mangaluru (Karnataka) : BJP called for a ‘Bandh’ when the Governor of Karnataka granted permission to file a case against the Chief Minister Yediyurappa. Why this BJP is not fighting when Karnataka Government has been demolishing 5000 temples? The above fiery question was asked by Mr. Lakshmish Gabladka here in a program on the occasion of setting up of ‘Mandir Mahasangha’ in Karnataka State with the initiative of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). The ‘Mahasangha’ has been set up to fight, in lawful manner, against the incidents of theft and idol breaking in Hindu temples as also fight against the decision taken by the State Government to demolish 5000 temples by construing wrong meaning of a verdict given by the Supreme Court. After Maharashtra and Goa, Karnataka is the third State to set up ‘Mandir Mahasangha’. The program was attended by trustees and office bearers from 190 temples.

Mr. Lakshmish Gabladka said further, “The priests do not have knowledge on matters related to Dharma. We must educate them. There is no facility of wash-rooms near Subramanyam Swami temple because it is taken over by the Government. Government of none of the parties is interested in welfare of Hindus. Where there is faith, there is God. Earlier, transactions used to take place keeping trees as witnesses. It was a belief that the tree would give evidence if the transaction went wrong. But such faith does not exist now. Every trustee should feel that it was his insult if theft took place in any temple; only then such incidents would be prevented. If 100 devout Hindus are trained in every religious centre, there will be millions of devout Hindus in this country.”

We will get weapons if temples are even touched ! – Ravish Tantri

A fight needs to be undertaken against those opposing temples. If we warn that we would get weapons if anyone dares to even touch a temple, only then, nobody would indulge in such thing, said Mr. Ravish Tantri, the President of Kshetriya Mandir Sanrakshan Samiti for Kasraguad District in Kerala.

Effect of Hindu unity

Malbar Charitable Trust had taken over Kote Anjaneya Mandir in Kerala a few years ago. The trust later started neglecting the temple. The ‘Kshetra Sanrakshan Samiti’ collected local residents and with their help, renovated the temple. The number of devotees visiting the temple increased so also the donations. Malbar Charitable Trust then claimed that the temple was managed by them but the devotees strongly opposed and the trust had to withdraw its claim. It has not been able to take over the management despite getting relevant orders from the Court. The Court then ordered to use police force to take over the temple. 250 policemen and 250 members of the Trust gathered near the temple. That time, Hindu Aikya Vedika Sanghatana (HAVS) and the local residents, in all 5000 people, opposed the move. Police, therefore, could not do anything. The State Government called HAVS for discussions considering its strength; but HAVS, prepared to fight against the Government, refused to go for discussions.
