Two officers of NIA conducted inquiry of Sanatan seekers from one State. They went to the place where the seekers were staying. A seeker came out to greet them when the officers extended their hand and then said, “Oh but you do not believe in shaking hands’. He then greeted the seeker with ‘Namaskar’. The following conversation took place between the seekers and the officers.

Officer  : I did not see you here when I had come last year.
Seeker  : I had gone out.
Officer  : What is your name? How long are you here? (Seeker told his name and gave information asked for.)
Officer  : How do you manage to run this place?
Seeker : We manage out of the donations collected at the time of Guru-pournima.
Officer  : Out of such less collection, how do you manage such huge expenses?
Seeker  : Devotees offer grains like lentils, rice etc.
Officer  : Even then how can you manage with such large scale expenses? The honorarium that you get as an individual is very less. How can a seeker run his life with such less money; or does the money come from Goa? I get Rs.50,000/- as salary even then, at the end of the month, it is difficult to make ends meet. How can you manage? Why don’t you live here with your children? Don’t they come to meet you?
Seeker  : Children are leading their life. I want to do sadhana; therefore, I came here. I do go and meet my children sometimes.
(O inquired about another seeker.)
Officer  : Do you have any information about that seeker? Does he call you? Or do you call him? Do you know where his wife and children are?
Seeker  : No, I have no idea.
Officer  : In case you know anything about that seeker, tell me. We will stop harassing you with inquiry. If not you, then some other seeker must be in contact with him. Send a message or call him and ask him to surrender.
Seeker  : No, we have no idea.
Officer  : How many people are staying here?
(Seeker   gives detail)
Officer  : Last time I came here, there were many seekers. Where have they gone?
Seeker  : They went home.
Officer  : Why?
Seeker  : Because of police and officers like you come here, some people get scared and do not come here.
Officer  : That is natural.
(A seeker went there at that time. Officer   asked him details of some other seekers. That seeker was asked the following questions.)
Officer  : Have you been to Goa recently?
Seeker  (2) : I had gone few months back; but don’t remember exact dates.
Officer  : Did you meet one seeker there?
Seeker  (2) : I did not meet him specially but had talked to him when came across him.
Officer  : Had you been there during Guru-pournima?
Seeker  (2) : No, here also we celebrate Guru-pournima.
Officer   (surprised): What, here too you celebrate GP?
Seeker  (2) : Yes
(Officer   are asked whether they would have tea/ coffee etc. but they refused.)
Officer  : Do you have my contact No.?
Seeker  (2) : Yes.
Then one more seeker was called for inquiry. The following conversation took place between them.
Officer  : I wanted the main balance sheet given by you last year. When can you give it?
(Seeker  (3) brought it in few minutes. There was a mention of a seeker in the copy about whom the Officer   was making inquiry; therefore, Officer asked whether there were any other papers related to him. Seeker  (3) informed him that those were the only papers. )
