HJS’ Respect National Flag drive successful

Citizens collected around 5000 flags at Yeotmal

Yeotmal (Maharashtra): In the drive undertaken by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to prevent insult of National Flag, 45 activists took part. Two days prior to Republic Day, members of HJS were explaining to the people as also the sellers of flags to not use the plastic and paper flags as it amounts to breach of law and how it leads to insult of National Flags. It was, however, observed that the retail sellers were still selling such flags. About 5000 flags were collected in boxes kept for the purpose. The drive was undertaken near the office of District Police Superintendent and Datta Chowk.

The drive was undertaken at Colaba, Worli, Santacruz, Bandra, Andheri, Borivali, Vasai, Ghatkopar, Bhandup, Mulund, Kanjur Marg, Kurla, Airoli, Koparkhiarane, Vashi, Ghansoli, Sanpada, Nerul etc. The flags thus collected will be handed over, with due respect, to the police, local representatives. A rally was taken out in Malpa Dongri area in Andheri, by nationalist organizations, that was attended by 70 activists.  
 
About 100 flags were collected and the representation to be submitted to the Government for preventing insult of National Flag was signed by 276 citizens.

Lectures were held by HJS in different areas in Mumbai, its suburbs and Navi Mumbai at schools etc. HJS organized lectures at Hindvi Swarajya Mandal, Powai, Wadia High School, Andheri, Nabar School, Dadar (W), Liberty Garden Municipal School, Malad, Saishree Classes, Airoli etc. so also at Vikas Kreeda Mandal, Prabhadevi, Shiv Sena Office, Anandnagar, Vasai (W), Green Park Society, Vasai (W), and residential complexes at Koparkhairane, Nerul, Ghansoli. In a blood donation camp held at Koparkhairane and Boisar also, HJS members explained the topic to people.
