Hubli (Karnataka): A Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha was held here on 30th January 2011 at 5.30 PM on the Nehru Grounds. About 1200 devout Hindus were present for the Sabha.

The meet began with the ceremonial blowing of the conch followed by recitation of Vedic mantras by Prabhaakar Chakravarti, Ramakrishna Gokak and Pavanakumar. Mrs. Vidula Haldipur highlighted the objectives and activities of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.
Guddali Swami of Guddalimath, Hosaritti was the chief guest. He felicitated Miss Natasha Menasinakaayi who spoke representing the Pro-Hindu Periodical Sanatan Prabhat.
Miss Sphurti Benakanavari addressing the audience on behalf of Sanatan Sanstha. She emphasized the need for Hindus to practice spirituality as has been told in scriptures and so many saints. Only spiritual strength will take us across the difficult times ahead she clarified.

Guddali Swami cautioned all Hindus saying “Hindu Dharma as such will not perish –come what may; But those Hindus who do not live righteously and do nothing to protect Hinduism are sure to perish!”. He emphasized that it is imperative that Hindus develop appropriate pride about Hinduism and unity among themselves.
Speaking about the Karnataka government’s unjust and unlawful demolition of temples by labeling them as unauthorized, Mr. Mohan Gowda, Karnataka state spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti urged people to be alert and to protest lawfully and unitedly in the event of government machinery being brought to demolish temples. He gave numerous examples of temple authorities saving their temples from demolition by protesting and taking appropriate legal measures. He gave a call to those present, “You give an hour every day for the nation, we will give you a Hindu nation!”

A number of resolutions were passed unanimously during the meeting. The meeting concluded with the singing of Vande Mataram. The compeering was done by Mr. Svayamprakash Bankapur and Miss Pratibha Baligar.
