Success of HJS

Hindus, offer gratitude at the feet of God for this success !

Mumbai (Maharashtra) : Near Jahangir Art Gallery in South Mumbai, ‘Kala Ghoda’ festival has been organized like every year starting from 5th to 14th February. The Central Government has sent a team of artists from the State of Rajasthan to entertain people by disguising in different forms. Since the last four days, the group has been dressing up as different Deities like Lord Shiva, Maruti, Narada etc. to amuse people. This was observed by activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) viz. Mrs. Varsha Thakar, Mrs. Manali Salgaonkar, Mr. Ashish Mhatre and Mr. Nityanand Bhise, a reporter of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’. They lodged a complaint with Colaba Police Station. Mr. Sawant, a senior Police Inspector (PI) called Mr. Maneck Davar, a Director of ‘Kala Ghoda Association’ to the police station and held a meeting with the delegation of HJS and him.

Mrs. Varsha Thakar said, “Some artists are entertaining people in the disguise of various Deities. Our Deities are shown in such distorted form on the roads which has hurt our religious sentiments. There are many foreigners visiting this fair. Such mockery is leading to defamation of Hindu Dharma all over the world; therefore, those artists should be immediately stopped from further denigrating our Deities.” Davar said, “We do not consider it s denigration. They have been sent by the Central Government. They are not entertaining people but are exhibiting our culture. It is their family business.” Mr. Bhise said, “Many attractive things prepared from junk are exhibited here and people are taking photographs standing with such things. They are also standing with these disguisers and taking photographs. Is it not entertainment? Maruti and Ravana are walking in the exhibition with hand in hand; is it not denigration of our holy scriptures? Do not say that it is their family business and mix up social and religious matters.” Even then Mr. Davar was quite stubborn and left the meeting in between. PI Sawant then took the HJS activists to the Chief of the artists Mr. Rajpratap Singh.

Mrs. Thakar explained to him about denigration of Deities. Mr. Singh said, “We had never realized this part. From tomorrow, we will not come here in the disguise of Deities.” PI Sawant said, “It is a kind of denigration and that is why we brought you here to the Chief of the artists. Your purpose is pure; therefore, I helped you. I will also see that denigration does not take place here.” On the following day, the artists dressed as joker and other cartoon characters and entertained people.

Replicas of cows displayed with pictures of Hindu Deities and film stars also removed

In this fair, ‘Times of India’ had, under the name of art-pieces, displayed two models of cows. There were pictures of Sree Ganesha and Sreekrushna drawn over their body and on the side of these pictures, were drawn the pictures of Hindi film stars, railway-train and Jama Mosque hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. Activists of HJS strongly protested against this also when PI Sawant immediately shifted the models of cows from the exhibition. (Congratulations to Mr. Sawant for performing his duty towards protection of Dharma and helping to protect religious sentiments of Hindus ! – Editor SP)
