Presently, many wrong practices have entered in public celebration of Navratri festival. Sanctity of the festival has been diminishing due to various wrong practices such as dancing ‘garba’ on tunes of film-songs; consumption of liquor; making indecent gestures while dancing; collecting donations forcibly; gambling in marquees; hideous dancing during taking out processions of Devi etc. Many newspapers have published news about increase in immoral acts and increase in cases of abortion; causing huge harm to nation and Dharma during this period; therefore, action should be taken to keep curb over such acts. Memorandum with such demands was submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) on 2nd October 2018 to Dy. District Superintendent of Police Anilsingh Gautam, city police station’s Police Inspector (PI) Vijay R. Rathod and PI D. R. Shukla of Avadhoot wadi police station.

Police administration promised to keep control over such malpractices and had detailed discussions with HJS activists.

Shri. Prashant Solanke, Shri. Kailas Surase, Shri. Dattatreya Fokmare, Shri. Vijay Jadhav of HJS and Shri. Ravi Deshpande of Sanatan Sanstha were present on the occasion.
