Aland (Karnataka):  It was observed that idol of Hanuman from Hanuman Temple in ‘Sriram Market’, idol of ‘Nandi’ installed under a Peepul tree opposite Markandeshwar Temple and the idol of Sree Siddheshwar from Siddheshwar Mutt in Jain Lane were damaged. Out of them, the idols of Nandi and Sree Siddheshwar were thrown on the road. (There have been numerous instances of idol-breaking in States of Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka; but no action has yet been taken by Hindus against the idol-breakers nor any idol-breaker has been punished under the law; therefore, now idol-breakers have damaged idols from 3 temples ! – Editor SP)

As the news about idol-damaging spread, there was a commotion and atmosphere became tense. (Hindus should realize that every time such incident of idol-breaking takes place, the atmosphere becomes tense for some time; but it has in no way affected idol-breakers ! – Editor SP) MLA Subhash Guttedar, Dy. Superintendent of Police, Tehsildar and Chief Officer rushed to the place of incident. Police tried to search the culprits with the help of dog; but it was of not much help.
