Govt managed Shirdi temple ‘donates’ Rs. 50 crore to CM fund

Why does, the Govt. which is looting money in temple, not collect money from mosques and churches for drought relief ?

Mumbai : The decision of Shri Saibaba Sansthan of Shirdi to give an amount of Rs. 50 crore to Chief Minister’s fund is strongly protested. Earlier too, Shri Saibaba Sansthan had given crores of rupees to the State Government for Jalyukt Shivar project (To make villages free of water scarcity). Actually, to make the development of the State and provide drought relief is the responsibility of the Government. When the State faces drought, the Government should collect money by appealing to the Central Government and rich industrialists for drought relief. However, by not doing so and usurping the money offered by the devotees as donations to Hindus’ temples is a plunder of God’s money by the Government. The Government has so far taken money from Hindus’ temples; why does it not collect money from mosques and churches for drought relief ? This question was asked by Mr. Sunil Ghanwat, State Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti for the Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh States to the State Government.

Few years back the former President Mrs. Pratibhasingh Patil had visited Shirdi and recently the Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited Shirdi. The expenditure for President’s visit and Rs. 3 crores spent on Prime Minister’s visit on the occasion of Centenary festival of Shri Sai Baba was borne by the Sansthan itself. Earlier, the Prime Minister Modi had visited the Cheraman Juma Mosque in Kerala. Was the expenditure incurred for that visit recovered by the Central Government from the Mosque ? Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, during his rule, used to visit temples and donate money for performing religious rituals and development of the temples. However, the present rulers, who are in power by using the name of same Chhatrapati, are plundering God’s money instead of donating it to temples. The money donated by the devotees must be expended only for the religious cause; however, why does this not happen in case of temples taken over by the Government ? It has been found that the corruption takes place even during spending money given by the temples to the Government. Therefore, we demand that the Government which has taken over the temples should hand them over back to the devotees.
