Chiplun : Police Inspector (PI) Devendra Pol of Chiplun police station promised members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) that stringent legal action will be taken against unauthorized sale of crackers with pictures of Deities and great national leaders and even crackers made in China, on the occasion of Diwali festival.
Pictures of Deities on crackers are hurting religious sentiments of millions of Hindus and pictures of great national leaders on crackers are leading to their insult and destruction of national identity. HJS has been undertaking drive, in lawful manner, to stop this damage since past 14 years and as a part of this drive, representation demanding action against illegal sellers of crackers with pictures of Deities and national leaders so also sellers of Chinese crackers was submitted to PI Pol. Shri. Pranay Wadkar, District Vice President of BJP, Shri. Suresh Shinde and Dr. Hemant Chalke of HJS were present on the occasion.
