In many cases, police take initiative in lodging complaints when the matter is against Hindus; but in such situation like this, they shirk from their responsibility. Why should Hindus pay tax and look after such police force? Such police will not be there in the divine kingdom; but there will be police who will be most dutiful and will take prompt action.

New Mumbai: On the ‘Pragat Din’ of Saint Sri Gajanan Maharaj, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) undertook a signature drive against the incident of damaging of the idol of Saint Sri Gajanan Maharaj that took place in Latur.
Few days before the ‘Pragat Din’ of Saint Sri Gajanan Maharaj, some miscreants had damaged the idol of Sri Gajanan Maharaj in a temple in Vikramnagar, Latur. Maharashtra is the land of Saints. A representation was submitted that stringent action should be taken against the culprits who were responsible for breaking the faith of devotees and temples should be provided security immediately. The representation was submitted to the Governor through the medium of Konkan Commissioner along with signatures of 519 devout Hindus obtained in the drive. Mr. Veeresh Ahire, Vishal Savarkar and Rajan Bhurke were present on behalf of HJS along with Mrs. Vidyatai Shirke of BJP.

Feedbacks
1. Mr. Nilesh Gavhane – The incident of idol-damaging is most condemnable and thanks for undertaking such drive to create awareness among the devotees.
2. Mr. Prashnat Hande – I was shocked to hear about the idol-breaking. Barring Sanatan Prabhat and few other few newspapers, other periodicals have a very partial attitude towards such incidents.

Saint Gajanan Maharaj’s idol was damaged at Latur
February 21, 2011
Magh Krushna Chaturthi, Kaliyug Varsha 5112
Latur (Maharashtra): Anti-Hindu miscreants damaged the idol of Saint Gajanan Maharaj in His temple at Vikram nagar. Nobody has, however, lodged any complaint in this context; therefore, the police are taking no action.
Hari Kulkarni, the priest of the temple closed the temple and went home in the night. Following day when he opened the temple, he realized that the idol was damaged. He also noticed that the door of the sanctum sanctorum was locked from outside. He called Nagnath Bujbal and Buvasaheb Deshmukh, the trustees of the temple. Bhujabal called the police. Police Inspector and his colleagues went to the place of incident and tried to close the issue instead of finding the culprit. The broken idol was joined and covered with a shawl. The police gave the excuse that the platform had subsided due to water and developed cracks. The police immediately offered Rs. 7000/- to the trustees to get a new idol. (Offering money to the trustees amounts to bribing by the police because they do not want to search for the idol-breakers and want to close the chapter. Why should God protect such corrupt people? – Editor SP) Other devotees also gave donation. (O devotees, if the new idol is also damaged by the idol-breakers, are you going to give donation again? How long such spinelessness should be tolerated ? – Editor SP)
By that time, Mr. Pappu Kulkarni, the District-chief of Shiv Sena reached the scene with the office bearers. He demanded that the idol-breakers should be first found and punished. (Only Shiv Sainiks fight for ‘Dharma’. It looks like that the others have been mentally circumcised ! – Editor SP) The trustees, however, did not lodge a complaint against the damage; therefore, police did not take any action. (Hindus must note that despite lodging complaints, police do not search for idol-breakers; so, in case no complaint is lodged, they will be encouraged in their inaction. At least, a complaint needs to be lodged else the hands breaking the idols today, can break your heads tomorrow. Hindus should realize this grave truth ! – Editor SP)
