Period of pilgrimage reduced by 15 days : Hindus enraged

Shrinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) : This year, ‘Shri Amarnath Shrine Board’ which organizes Amarnath pilgrimage has decided to reduce the period of pilgrimage by 15 days. (It is shameful for Hindus that the period of Hindus’ pilgrimage is reduced in a country where Hindus are in majority ! – Editor SP) Pro- Hindu organizations have expressed their strong views on such decision. ‘Shri Baba Amarnath Yatri Nyas’ has raised objection to this decision.

It has been decided by the organization led by Mr. N. N. Vora, the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to start the pilgrimage from 29th June and conclude the same on 13th August. The pilgrimage, which was held for two months till now, has been reduced to 45 days. It was stated by the Committee that the decision was taken as a security measure. (Till now, the period of Haj pilgrimage was never reduced not only for security reasons but even for the reasons of public health; however, reduction of period of Amarnath pilgrimage by 25% is being taken by Omar Abdulla Government which is a part of the Congress Government. Hindus must realize that it is a conspiracy of J & K Government to slowly reduce and finally stop celebration of Hindu festivals. – Editor SP)

‘The Committee hurriedly took this decision without taking anyone in confidence,’ said Mr. Dineshwar Singh, the convenor of the Nyas. He also said that a meeting of organizations, which hold similar views, will be arranged shortly to decide further course of action and discussions will be held with the Governor. (Nobody is bothered about religious sentiments of Hindus because they always follow the path of law and discussions whenever any injustice is done to them. – Editor SP)
