A meeting with Sadguru Shree Shree Shree Bramhananda Saraswathi Swamiji of the Sriramakshetra, Nityanandanagara, Dharmasthala was held on behalf of the Devasthana Mattu Dharmika Samsthegala Mahasangh, Karnataka. (Temples and Dharmik Organisations’ Mega organisation)

Dharmasthala (Dist. Mangalore, Karnataka) : On 4th March 2011, Friday members of Devasthana Mattu Dharmika Samsthegala Mahasangh met Shree Shree Shree Bramhananda Saraswathi Of Shrirama Kshetra, Nityanandanagara, Dharmasthala On this occasion giving his blessings for continuing the good work of the Mahasangh, His Holiness said “To follow the religion the temples are a must and the Government is destroying such centers of faith. In Karnataka, even though the ruling party has the background of Hinduism, it is surprising to see that they let such things happen. People should not trust the politicians to protect our places of faith and worship. They must come together with a feeling of courage and sacrifice to fight for this cause.

Our Freedom fighters did not wait for permission from the British to start the Freedom struggle. Similarly we too don’t have to wait for anybody’s permission to fight for the cause of protection of our places of faith and worship.

Be it temples, temple doorways or daanpetis(donation boxes) our people let go and vacate the places without any protest, whereas people of other faiths threaten the officers in charge and shoo them out if their places of worship are under any such danger. Mainly we don’t have the strength of unity in us. Hindus have a shortage of willpower to unite.

When the British came to India many a small rulers were ruling here. The British took advantage of the mean selfish mentalities of such small rulers and took over the whole of India. Similarly the bad time of destruction of our temples by our selfish political parties is very near.

It is indeed very shameful that he politicians, who come together, forgetting their differences to fight for the increase of their allowance, don’t join hands to fight for the cause of protecting temples. Speaking of the Government taking over the temple administrations he said, “Is it worth giving the temple administrations into the hands of such selfish corrupt politicians? The administration of the temples must be in the hands of Sadhus, Sants or Sanyasis who have sacrificed everything and not in the hands of politicians. Only saints know to preach and teach for the wellbeing of the society, how a common man can do spiritual practice and how a Government should function etc.

Out of the four-fold objectives of life – Dharma (righteousness), Artha (wealth), Kama (fulfilling of desires) and Moksha, dharma and moksha should be the banks between which Artha and Kama should flow. Artha and Kama should not flow out of the boundaries set by Dharma and Moksha.

Now-a-days Mathadhipatis are thinking narrowly. Instead they have to make arrangements to give Dharmashikshana (religious education) to Hindus and to show them what true Dharma means. Praising the organizers of any program they are invited to, has become a practice amongst the Mathadhipatis. Only beautifying, developing and improving the temples must not be given importance; Building temples of faith and devotion in everyone’s heart must be prioritized. I mention this on any dais without any hesitation.”

He also said that like Sanatan Sastha’s Dharmashikshan he has started a Gurukul and on the coming Ramanavami A Vedapathashala will also be inaugurated   We have also planned to spread the Vedamantra Ghosha in the surroundings at least for half an hour everyday through loud speakers. He advised the mahasangh members to continue the good work even if people don’t unite to oppose the attacks on our Dharma. My blessings are always with you he added.
