‘Anti-superstition Bill to be presented in next LA session’

Phalgun Shukla Saptami, Kaliyug Varsha 5112

O Hindus, fight the Bill with all your might as it will bring restraint on your ‘Dharmacharan’

Mumbai: The pending Bill named ‘Maharashtra Narbali, Yaun-shoshan, Amanavi and Aghouri Krutya Adhiniyam 2010’ for eradication of superstitions will be presented in the forthcoming budgetary session of Legislative Assembly. The restrictive clauses in the earlier draft have been removed and the Bill has been made short. The above information was given by Information and Social Justice Minister Shivajirao Moghe (This means that Mr. Moghe agrees that the clauses as contended by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti included in the earlier draft were restrictive. All the clauses in the proposed Act are there in the existing Acts; therefore, there is no need for a new Act. Hindus must note that the proposed Act, which is applicable only to Hindus, would put restriction on their ‘Dharmacharan’; therefore, they should oppose it in lawful manner ! – Editor SP)

Moghe said further, “I have discussed the matter with the main opposing members. If other MLAs want to discuss the matter again, they are welcome to do that. All the paperwork in this regard has been completed. Even if the Bill is passed in the Legislative Assembly, it is necessary that people should also accept it. The Government is, therefore, ready to discuss every point and clarify doubts.”
