Press release by HJS
Prayagraj : Instead of laying out the plan of constructing a grand temple at Shriram’s birthplace Ayodhya, the decision of the Dharmasansad organised by VHP to stop the Ram Mandir movement in its entirety on the backdrop of the elections, is a rather unfortunate decision and one that has let down the aspirations of the Hindu society. Today, the entire nation had its hopes up for the construction of Ram Mandir. The entire Hindu society was eager to hear a resounding cheer of the conclusive Ram Mandir movement, from the saints present at the Dharmasansad. However, to ensure that there are no obstacles in the path of a certain political party to reassume power, the movement was brought to an end. In a way, VHP certified itself as the political party supporter. It was a golden opportunity for VHP to present in front of the Hindu society its final objective of the construction of Ram Mandir, by not aligning itself with any political party. But VHP failed to portray its apolitical image.
Factually, VHP should have fiercely demanded the BJP government which in turn brought the ordinances on Triple Talaq and GST implementation, to bring upon the same in regards with the Ram Mandir construction. However, this Dharmasansad has failed to match the aspirations of Hindus. Neither any government could construct the Ram Mandir in the last 71 years, nor did the present BJP government make any statements in this regard in the last 5 years. Withstanding this, expecting that no sooner it comes back to power, it will build the Ram Mandir is hilarious. Without wasting any more time, the aspirations and sentiments of 1 billion Hindus worldwide should be presented in front of the government by announcing the date of the construction of Ram Mandir, in the ongoing session where the budget is being presented. If this announcement is made, the entire Hindu community will involve itself in this process.
VHP’s trust that ‘Supreme Court will complete the process’ in the proposal of construction of Ram Mandir is okay. However, if VHP had the trust in the apex court, why did it go against its decision and initiated the movement of Babri Masjid demolition way back in 1992 ? Haphazard dialogue of ‘Hum mandir vahi banayenge, lekin tareekh nahi batayenge‘ will not work now. We as representatives of crores of faithful Hindus are keeping forth our demands before the largest Hindu organization through this press release.
