Mr. Home Minister, why there is one law for Congress and another for others?

Sangli (Maharashtra): In a press conference held at Sangli, a reporter asked Home Minister R R Patil, “In the ‘Wheat Scam’ matter, case has been filed against Mr. Pramod Suryavanshi, a municipal councilor of Congress. He is a supporter of Dr. Patangrao Kadam so what is your stand in this matter?”

On this issue, the Home Minister replied, “Even if he is an activist of Dr. Patangrao Kadam, how can Dr. Kadam be held responsible? He will never approve of such action. The leader need not necessarily have every information of what his activists are doing. There are many parties working at national level which have many workers. If one worker is doing something wrong that does not mean that the Party is guilty. (In that case, how can Sanatan Sanstha be held responsible for its 3-4 workers? It has been proved during investigations that the so-called wrong committed by its workers was, in fact, not as per the teachings and policies of Sanatan Sanstha. If one rule is applied for Congress leaders, why it cannot be applied to other organizations or persons? – Editor SP)
