Sajjangad (Dist. Satara, Maharashtra): Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) organized ‘Hindvi Itihas Jagruti Abhiyan’ at Sri-kshetra Sajjangad, a place of pilgrimage sanctified with the presence of Samartha Ramdas Swami. On the occasion of ‘Shiv-jayanti’ on 22nd March, the program was organized to recollect the bright history of great National Heroes and to unite Hindus. The program was attended by 90 youth members coming from various parts of the district. Mr. Govind Gandhi, Vice President of Hindu Mahasabha for Maharashtra and Mr. Bajirao Sanas also took part in this program.

Cleaning drive of the Sajjangad undertaken on the occasion 

Under this drive, cleaning of ‘Sajjangad’ was undertaken between 8.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. The participants were chanting ‘Sriram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram’ and ‘Har Har Mahadeo’ besides acclaiming Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and raising slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’. The devotees visiting Sajjangad were also motivated with the energy of the youth and slogans that they too joined the cleaning drive. The whole area was cleaned.

Group-discussions and guidance by Shahajibuva Ramdasi

On behalf of ‘Samartha Ramdas Swami Sanstha (SRSS)’, a VCD was shown at 1.00 p.m. giving detailed information about the place where Samartha Ramdas Swami lived and history of other places on the fort. In the group discussions held later, all participants resolved to follow ‘Dharmacharan’ and fight against every attack on Dharma. It was also decided to distribute a copy of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ in every village as it gives information about every attack on Dharma and ‘Dharmashikshan’. A rally has been planned in villages on the occasion of the New Year of Hindus i.e. ‘Gudhi Padva’ besides writing of display-boards, putting up hoardings etc. Shri. Shahajibuva Ramdasi, a devotee of Swami-Samartha spoke on the topic ‘What should be done for protection of Nation and Dharma’. The guidance was held at 5.00 p.m. He narrated various incidents from the life history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Samartha Ramdas Swami enthralling the participants. After the guidance, the participants were taken round the fort and shown historically important places on the fort. The program was concluded with Mr. Prakash Chavan of HJS felicitating Pujya Mohanbuva Ramdasi, the Manager of SRSS by garlanding him and offering a ‘Sreephal (coconut)’. Pujya Mohanbuva Ramdasi lauded the activities undertaken by HJS and bestowed blessings for HJS mission. The program ended with singing ‘aarti’ and worshipping of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by Pujya Mohanbuva Ramdasi.

Highlights

1. Collective chanting was conducted in Sriram Mandir in the afternoon.

2. The devotees on Sajjangad appreciated the activities and discipline shown by HJS members observing the manner in which they formed queue to take ‘prasad’, their rhythmic chanting and raising slogans etc.   

3. Samartha-devotee Shri. Shahajibuva Ramdasi said, “HJS has undertaken the drive of creating awareness and unity among people in the right manner which was also advocated by Samartha Ramdas Swami and SRSS will support every drive undertaken by HJS.”
