Thane (Maharashtra): Hindu Janajagruti Samti (HJS) undertook various drives on the occasion of Shiv-jayanti in Thane, Dombivali, Bhiwabdi areas which were well received by the people.

Photo-exhibition showing oppression of Hindus fallen prey to terrorism in Kashmir and Bangla Desh titled ‘Grave Truth of Terrorism’ was held at Chiragnagar, Thane. About 400 citizens visited the exhibition. At Pendsenagar in Dombivali, ‘Sree Satyanarayan’ Mahapuja was organized. A signature drive was undertaken at the venue with the help of Shiv Sena ‘Shakha-pramukh’ Mr. Dinesh Achalkar to protest against the proposed anti-superstitions Act, for demanding printing of postal stamp and a coin on the occasion of completion of 350 years to the incident where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had slain Afzal Khan. 500 persons joined the drive by putting their signature on the memorandum. In Gandhinagar area, Mr. Sambhus of HJS addressed the gathering in a program organized by Shivasamartha Mandal. Mr. Mahesh Mulik spoke in the meeting held at Anjur in Bhiwandi which was attended by about 100 devout Hindus.
