Dhamane (Dist. Belgaum) : Women hold high position under Indian culture; but nowadays, they are falling prey to rape, harassment by family members; besides young girls and even married women falling prey to a most dangerous conspiracy like love jihad. Hindu women are drifting apart from ‘Dharmacharan’; therefore, several incidents like immorality, drug addictions are taking place. On one hand, women are soaring high in the field of defence while on the other hand, atrocities against women are increasing. Every women should therefore, needs to get trained in self-defence for own protection, stated Sou. Ujjawala Gawade of Ranaragini Division  during a program held on 8th March in the background of ‘Women’s Day’, at Basavanna Galli, Dhamane village on behalf of Ranaragini Division, promoted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). She addressed the ‘Shaurya-jagaran’ meeting held on the occasion.

Sou. Nanda Yelawi, a social worker also expressed her views. Demos on self-defence were staged during the program which was attended by about 200 women. Members of ‘Balbheema Yuvak Mandal’ were also present. The program was compeered by Shri. Bhujang Chavan.
