Kolhapur : Hindustan Unilever has telecast an advertisement on its product ‘Surf Excel’ in the background of ‘Ranga-Panchami’. Hindus have been once again insulted on the occasion of Hindus’ festival through this advertisement. Many advertisements of this Company have insulted Hindus’ seats of worship even earlier. The advertisements for ‘Surf Excel’ and ‘Red Label’ are hurting Hindus’ religious sentiments; therefore, they should be immediately withdrawn and the Company should publicly tender an apology to all Hindus. The above demands were made through representation submitted with the initiative taken under Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to Deputy District Collector Shri. Sanjay Shinde. Similar representation was submitted to District Collector’s office at Sangli.
Shri. Manohar Sorap, District-President of ‘Hindu Mahasabha’; Shri. Santosh Pawar, its city-President; Shri. Vijay Bondre, District-President of Rickshaw Union; its Dy. District-President, Shri. Kumar Katkar; Sou. Deepali Khade, regional-President (women’s wing), its Dy. District President, Rekha Dudhane; Shri. Mukund Kapadekar of ‘Namdev Shimpi’ community and members of HJS were present on the occasion.
Other demands made …..
1. Hindustan Unilever has been continuously hurting religious sentiments of Hindus; therefore, a case should be immediately filed against the Company under clause 295 of IPC.
2. Hindustan Unilever should publish letter through various media, rendering an apology to Hindus for such advertisements.
3. Malpractices taking place on the occasion of Holi and ‘Ranga-Panchami’ should be curbed and help should be extended for providing protection to women.

Solapur : An advertisement has been published by Hindustan Unilever for its product ‘Surf Excel’ on the occasion of forthcoming ‘Ranga-Panchami’ festival. Hindus have been purposely insulted through this advertisement. Such incidents are taking place often. The Union Government should take immediate action against this Company, was the demand made through representation submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and it was submitted to District Collector’s office which was accepted by Tehasildar (Revenue) Shrikant Patil.
