Govt. ploy to take over Hindu temples: HJS to oppose the ploy

Panvel: Performance of the State Government has been pathetic on all the fronts so the Government is getting ready to take over all temples and religious institutions on recommendations of 15th Law Commission. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has planned to oppose the move.

The Samiti will hold agitations all over the State against passing of such Law. In this context, a meeting will be held of all the trustees of religious institutions and temples located at Navi Mumbai and Panvel. The meeting will be held at Virupaksha temple in Panvel on Sunday, 5th November and Datta Mandir at Sanpada.

A circular has been issued by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti explaining in detail the ramifications of passing such Law. The Government has excluded mosques and durgahs from the purview of this law and will take over all the religious places of worship belonging to Hindu, Jain, Sikh and Christians. After taking over the Sree Siddhivinayak temple at Mumbai and Saibaba Mandir at Shirdi, it has been observed that the Government has mismanaged these Trusts and there are several instances of malpractices. The above meeting will be attended by Shri Ramesh Shinde, the spokesperson of HJS for the State of Maharashtra. For more details, contact 9323304479.

HJS appeal to unite

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has appealed to all Hindu Organisations, Trusttes of temples, Owners and administrators of holy places as also alert Hindus to unite and thwart the ploy of the so-called secular Government and to teach the rulers a lesson.

A drive has been undertaken by HJS to meet all trustees and chiefs of the temple and explain to them the legality of the proposed Act. There has been an encouraging response to the drive.

Recently, the drive was started by meeting trustees of Sree Ram temple which was founded by Saint Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon. The trustees have not only assured of their help to HJS’ drive but have also offered to become members of HJS. The response is positive from all the trustees.
