Karnataka: HJS celebrated Hindu New Year enthusiastically

HJS  arranged various programs to demonstrate celebrations as per the Science of Spirituality, the way of celebrating Ugadi (Hindu New Year) and welcoming the Hindu New year in Bangalore, Tumkur and Kunigal centres.

Bangalore (Karnataka): the program was arranged at the famous Sri Prasanna Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple located in Mahalakshmipuram on the 4th April 2011 at 10 A.M. The  pooja of the Brahma Dhwaj was done by the temple priest. The significance of the Brahma Dhwaj was announced by HJS Karnataka Spokesperson Mr. Mohan Gowda. Most of the devotees were curious about the Brahma Dhwaj as it is not usually raised in this part of Karnataka. Mr. Mohan Gowda and other Samiti members clarified their doubt suitably. Many of the devotees also went through the Weekly Sanatan Prabhat Periodical to get more information. Mr. Gowda during his brief lecture also informed the devotees the importance of celebrating Ugadi as the New Year and not Jan 1st. He added that the Ugadi is celebrated on the day the Universe was formed and it has special Spiritual significance. The Samiti’s New year card also evinced keen interest among the devotees. More than 50 devotees were present during the pooja.

Highlights
1. One Senior citizen appreciated the Samiti members for their efforts and recollected that such programs used to take place about 50 to 60 years back. He also requested that more such programs be held.
2. The temple management gave a prime spot for doing pooja to the Brahma Dhwaj and also allowed repeated announcement on the mike system which helped the devotees get better information about the Brahama Dhwaj.
3. Samiti members distributed more than 300 hand bills to devotees visiting the temple after the pooja.

Tumkur (Karnataka):  the model Ugadi celebration to explain celebration of Ugadi as per the the Science of Spirituality way was arranged at the Patanjali Yoga Mandira to welcome the Hindu New Year on the 3rd of April 2011 in the morning at 6 am. The Brahma Dhwaj was raised and all who had congregated jointly offered their pooja. Mr. Shahsidhar member of the Samiti gave a lecture in detail about the importance of the Brahma Dhwaj, how it is prepared, how pooja is offered to the Brahma Dhwaja etc. The devout Hindus who were very much influenced by the program requested the Samiti members to arrange more such programs in future. 13 Devout Hindus were present.

Highlights

Fully inspired by the program 3 of the Devout Hindus raised the Brahma Dhwaj the next day and thereby benefitted.

Kunigal (Karnataka): the Samiti jointly made the Ugadi celebration along with Patanjali Yoga Shiksana Samiti, Akkana Balaga and Jyothishayala and raised the Brahma Dwaja and celebrated Ugadi. On this occasion the VCD on Ugadi was shown and the Almanac was read. Sanatan Sanstha seekers had arranged display and sale of Holy texts of Sanatan. Handbills giving information about the celebration of Ugadi were given to more than 60 devout Hindus who were present.
