Mumbai : ‘Gudi Padwa’, which is one of the 3 and ½ auspicious ‘muhurts’, was celebrated in traditional manner, with lot of enthusiasm on Chaitra Shukla Paksha Pratipada (6th April) at Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. Processions were taken out at Girgaum, Dadar, Dombivali etc, drawing attention of all. ‘Rangolis’ were drawn on roads for these welcome-processions at various places on the routes. People, young and old, welcomed the New Year with saffron flags, in traditional attires and in the background of traditional music.

Local festival committees and pro-Hindu organizations from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane took out processions on the occasion of ‘Gudi Padwa’ in which Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Sanatan Sanstha and Ranaragini Division participated. HJS activists participated in programs of collective hoisting of ‘Gudhis’ held at some places.

Navayuga Mitra Mandal, Mahim took out a procession from Macchimarnagar to Shivaji Park. HJS was invited to participate in this procession. Shri. Balwant Pathak addressed the people on behalf of HJS.

Celebrating New Year on ‘Gudi Padwa’ has spiritual significance. It is our historical legacy. Few people from organizations like Sambhaji Brigade make appeal against celebrating ‘Gudi Padwa’; giving context of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s death. These people are trying to mislead Hindus but don’t fall prey to their false propaganda and celebrate New Year only on ‘Gudi Padwa’.

Collective ‘Gudhi-pujan’ at Koparkhairane and Kharghar by HJS

Women from ‘Ranaragini’ Division of HJS participated in the procession taken out on behalf of ‘Akhil Sanpada Sanskurtik Pratishthan’. Different cultural and social organizations took out processions at Vashi, Sanpada and Airoli in Navi Mumbai.

Collective ‘Gudhi’ was hoisted by HJS along with other organizations and devout Hindus at Shri Chikaneshwar Mandir, Koparkhairane and at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk in front of Durgamata Mandir at Kharghar. Local devout Hindu activists, readers of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ and devotees came together at Chikaneshwar Mandir, Koparkhairane for collective hoisting of ‘Gudhi’. Shri. Nilesh Patil, Trustee of the temple and his wife were the hosts of the program. Shri. Nilesh Patil said, “Collective ‘Gudhi-pujan’ gave a different kind of happiness. We should come together in this manner even in future.”

Devout Hindus made a resolve on the auspicious day of ‘Gudi Padwa’ to unite for protection of nation, by abiding by Dharma. Shri. Ajay Barge of Shivapratishthan’, devout Hindus viz. Shri. Nandkishore Goswami, Shri. B. D. Gauda, Shri. Girish Gupta, Shri. Ramkumar Sharma; social worker Shri. Tukaram Kuntale; Shri. Nilesh Patil, Trustee of Shri Chikaneshwar Mandir and Shri. Ravi Patil of HJS participated in the program.

New Year procession taken out with great jubilation at Boisar, Saravali and Dahanu (Dist. Palghar) !

New Year procession was organized by various local organizations at Boisar, Saravali and Dahanu in Palghar district. Copies of special issue of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ were distributed by HJS during the processions. Hindus were extended New Year greetings. Shri. Sagar Chopdar, District Coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad attended all these processions. He addressed devout Hindus in procession held at Dahanu.

Let us make a resolve on this auspicious day of ‘Gudi Padwa’ to undertake spiritual practice with full vigour. Let us make a resolve to chant God’s name; those who are already chanting, can increase chanting. Let us try to prevent, in lawful manner, attacks on Hindu Dharma, for protection of Hindu culture.

Collective ‘Gudhi-pujan’ at Boisar and Borivali by HJS

Collective ‘Gudhi-pujan’ was performed by HJS at Shriram Mandir, Boisar. Shri. Sagar Chopdar told about the ‘Desha-kaal’ and extended good wishes to all on New Year. Shri. Shankar Kapase, Shri. Chandraprakash Adiwal, Shri. Chandrakant Sharma, Shri. Vinod Vajpayee, Shri. Shukla etc were some of the devout Hindus present along with readers of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’.

Collective ‘Gudhi-pujan’ was performed at Shrikrushna Cooperative Housing Society at Borivali where Shri. Bhushan Devarukhkar of HJS performed ‘Gudhi-pujan’ as per science. Many local Hindus joined the procession in traditional attire.

New Year welcomed with great enthusiasm !  

Hindu New Year was welcomed in Thane district as usual like every year, with great enthusiasm. New Year processions were taken out at Thane, Kalyan, Dombivali and Ambernath so also in other parts. Koupineshwar Trust had organized the procession at Thane wherein ‘palakhi’ of Koupineshwar was carried by Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde for some time. Many dignitaries had joined the procession. The procession was taken through areas like Jambhali Naka, Teen Petrol Pump, Gokhale Road, Ram Maruti Road and was concluded at ‘Talaopali’. More than 50 floats took part in the procession prepared by various social, cultural and spiritual organizations. Devout Hindu men and women, in traditional attire, joined the procession even on two-wheelers. Local residents were welcoming the procession on the route where ‘rangolis’ were drawn on roads.

HJS participated in procession taken out on the occasion of ‘Gudi Padwa’. A small picture-float with Shriram’s picture-frame was leading the procession amidst chanting of ‘Shriram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram’ by the participants. Many women participated on behalf of ‘Ranaragini’ Division of HJS, in traditional attire.

Demos on self-defence and first-aid classes held free of cost by HJS were staged during the procession. Slogans were spontaneously raised during these demos, acclaiming Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Demo conducted by members of Ranaragini Division drew attention of all and they received positive response from people showing interest in starting such classes in their area.

Awareness created about voting during procession taken out at Dombivali !

Procession to welcome New Year has special significance in Dombivali, which is known as the cultural city. The procession was started from Bhagashala Ground and was taken through different parts of the city; by concluding it at Phadake Road. Many citizens joined the procession on Phadake Road. Picture-floats created by various social, spiritual organizations were centre of attraction for the onlookers.

Messages creating awareness amongst people towards exercising their voting right were displayed in the procession. Local residents participated in traditional clothes, saffron turbans, amidst traditional music of drums and trumpets. A squad of training centre from ‘Juna Budhawar Peth Mardani Aakhadaa’ of Kolhapur, teaching art of war belonging to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s period, had joined the procession taken out in Dombivali. Similar enthusiasm was observed even during processions taken out at Kalyan and other parts of the district.

HJS holds collective ‘Gudhi-pujan’ at Ambernath

‘Gudhi’ was hoisted at Gaodevi Mandir Kansai, Ambernath (East) by HJS in the presence of readers of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’, devout Hindus and well-wishers of HJS. Science for hoisting ‘Gudhi’ was explained on the occasion. Devout Hindu women were explaining importance of erecting ‘Gudhi’ to women passing by.

Picture-float of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ was created at Thane which displayed different boards with matters published in various editions of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’. An appeal was also made through a song, to people to subscribe to this periodical and join ‘Dharmakarya’.

New Year -welcome procession taken out with lot of jubilation at Nashik

Procession welcoming New Year was taken out through different parts of the city on the occasion of Gudi Padwa.  Huge processions were organized from 5.30 a.m. onwards starting from Panchvati by ‘Jagatguru Narendracharyaji Maharaj Bhakta-seva Mandal’, Nashik; at Gangapur Road; Indira Nagar; Tidake Colony; Canada Corner; Bhadrakali etc by local pro-Hindu ‘Mandals’. Large number of women and youth participated in these processions.

Collective ‘Gudhi-pujan’ and vehicle march at Yavatmal on New Year Day

‘Shiva-Samarth Dhol Tasha Pathak’, ‘Swatantryaveer Savarkar Mitra Mandal’, ‘Vishwamangalya Sabha’ and HJS organized a procession of vehicles in the city in the morning of New Year which was concluded at ‘Swatantryaveer Savarkar Chowk’; followed with hoisting of ‘Gudhi’ at 50 ft height. Shri. Mangesh Khandel of HJS explained the spiritual importance of hoisting ‘Gudhi’. Picture-frame of ‘Bharatmata’ was also worshipped on the occasion. The vehicle march was organized by local Sindhi community.

Collective ‘Gudhi’ hoisted at Vavad and Dhandhane in Nandurbar district !

Vavad (Nandurbar)

Nandurbar : Collective ‘Gudhi’ hoisting was organized at Vavad and Dhandhane in this taluka. Dr. Narendra Patil explained the importance of science for celebrating ‘Gudi Padwa’. More than 100 devout Hindus attended the program at Vavad, while 40 devout Hindus were present at Dhandhane. Shri. Sudama Patil performed ‘Gudhi-pujan’ at Vavad and Shri. Nana Ogale did ‘puja’ at Dhandhane. Sou. Nivedita Joshi was the priest, giving instructions about ‘Gudhi-pujan’.

Highlights

1.Local youth went round the village making public announcement of this program.

2.Devout Hindus attending ‘Dharmashikshan’ classes held at these two villages organized collective ‘Gudhi-pujan’.

3.Smt. Lule, a local social worker drew ‘rangolis’ in temple area at Vavad and saw to it that everyone stood in queue.

4. Participation of senior citizens was also quite spontaneous.

Collective ‘Gudhi’ hoisting held at Bhusaval !

Bhusaval (Jalgaon) – ‘Gudhi’ was hoisted in front of Shri Ashtabhujadevi Mandir with the help of all devout Hindu activists as per Hindu ‘Dharma-shaastra’. An oath was also taken on the occasion for establishing undivided Hindu Rashtra.
