Issue of misappropriation of Rs. 7 crores as exposed by Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad (HVP) which was ‘Tasalmat’ amount (the amount withdrawn as advance by employees of Municipal Corporation)
- ‘Tasalmat’ is an Arabic word. It is very sad that Municipal administration has been using such word though there are appropriate words in Marathi and Sanskrut languages !
- The Municipal Commissioner should ask the concerned persons reasons for not recovering advance money taken by employees at that time and should see to it that the concerned responsible persons are stringently punished ! Had HVP not exposed the scam involving crores of rupees, would the amounts be recovered from concerned people?
- Why the municipal officers didn’t observe such corruption when it could be found by an organization ? Or was the matter purposely ignored ?
- The Commissioner should stipulate time limit for recovering the money !
Kolhapur : We have taken immediate note of the press conference held by HVP in connection with ‘Tasalmat’ amount. We congratulate HVP for bringing this matter to the notice of Municipal Corporation. We have initiated action at administrative level and Municipal Corporation will try to recover ‘Tasalmat’ amount as early as possible, was the promise made by Kolhapur Municipal Commissioner Mallinath Kalshetty to the delegation of HVP led by advocate Samir Patwardhan when they called on him on 11th April for submitting representation. Officers and other employees of KMC had withdrawn amounts as advance from the office right from the year 1951 which has gone up to Rs. 7 crores. These amounts have neither been returned by the staff members nor have been recovered by KMC (KMC administration not recovering these amounts in all these years from employees is a serious matter. It is quite unfortunate that HVP had to hold press conference and meet KMC Commissioner for bringing up this issue ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
Advocates Rajaram Yamgar, advocate Prakash Khondre; advocate (Sou.) Preeti Patil, Shri. Pramod Sawant of ‘Ambabai Bhakta Samiti’, Shri. Amar Shinde, Dy. District-President of MNS and activists of HJS were present on the occasion.
Advocate Samir Patwardhan of HVP said, “Information about the Commissioner getting report from Chief Accountant Sanjay Sarnaik and declaring recovery of amounts by fixing certain time limit from the concerned was read. We demand that necessary action should be promptly taken against the concerned.”
