Jalgaon (Maharashtra) : There is severe opposition to the proposed Bill named ‘Maharashtra eradication of inhuman, dreadful and other undesirable traditions including human sacrifice Ordinance 2011’ which the Maharashtra Government is trying to pass under the influence of Andha-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti (ANiS). Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) held demonstrations at various places. Warakaris, pro-Hindu organizations and many Hindus participated in the agitation.

Jalgaon (Maharashtra) : Demonstrations were held on G. S. Ground. Hindus who participated in the demonstrations and those who were passing by put their signatures on the representation against the proposed Act. Mr. Deepak Chaudhary of HJS was interviewed by IBN Lokmat channel, Bright India and NDTV. A representation signed by 1100 devout Hindus opposing the Act was submitted to the Deputy District Collector after demonstrations.

Yeotmal (Maharashtra) : Demonstrations organized in Datta Chowk received good response. A representation signed by 750 devout Hindus against the Act was submitted to the Resident District Collector. Many news channels tried to learn about the anti-Hindu nature of the proposed Act. Mr. Nandumama Poddar, the Vigilance Officer of Manav Seva Samiti visited the venue and expressed his views that it was necessary to unite against the anti-Hindu Act.

  • Shop-owners and auto-rickshaw drivers from Chowk area took part in the agitation.
  • Youth attending ‘Dharmashikshan’ classes conducted by HJS also took part.

Vardha (Maharashtra) : Here, the ‘Dharna’ agitation was held outside the office of District Collector. HJS undertook signature drive and collected signatures on a large scale. The representation so signed was later submitted to Mr. Rajesh Khavale, the Dy. District Collector by delegation of HJS.

About 60 devout Hindus took part in the demonstrations including Mr. Kamal Kuldharia, city-President of BJP, Mr. Vinod Bhardwaj, the secretary of BJP for the city, Mr. Atal Bihari Pandeya, the area-coordinator of Bajarang Dal, Mr. Amit Jain, BJP’s city-President for the Youth, Shri. Hemant Shastri Pachkhede, ‘Dharma-prasar’ chief of VHP for Vardha and Mr. Shyam Patki, its Public Relations Chief for Vardha District, Mr. Vilas Kulkarni, the Brahmin Sabha’s Vice President, Mr. Sanjiv Labhe, Sanskrut Bharati’s Vidarbha Minister, Mr. Rajendra Soni, Gujarati Samaj, the Joint Secretary of Gujarati community, Pt. Satish Sharma from Shani Mandir, Mr. Subhash Rathi of Sai Seva Mandal, Mr. Mahesh Bhatia, municipal councilor and activists of HJS.

Akola (Maharashtra) : Hundreds of devout Hindus joined the agitations showing their severe opposition against the proposed Act which would impose restrictions on the religious ceremonies, customs and traditions of Hindus. They signed the representation protesting against the Act.

‘Dharna’ agitation was organized on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti on 7th April in the morning between 10.00 and 12. 00 near the Open Theatre. Pamphlets were distributed against the Act by the activists raising slogans of ‘Hindu Dharmacha Vijay Aso’ on Gandhi Road. Mr. Shrikant Pisolkar, the District coordinator of HJS for Vidarbha explained how the proposed Act is harmful for Hindus. Mr. Dheeraj Raut, the district coordinator of HJS for Akola gave information to the local news channel about why people were against the proposed Act. Later, HJS delegation went to Mr. Muthukrushnan Sankaranarayanan, the District Collector who accepted the representation assuring the delegation to send it to his seniors. The representation was signed by 2000 devout Hindus. The agitation received good response from the local citizens.
