The Bugle of Hindu Dharma Jagruti blows at the footsteps of the Holy Kodachadri Hills.

Mastikatte, Hosanagar (Dist. Shivmogga, Karnataka) : Hindu Janajagruti Samiti organised  a Dharma Jagruti Sabha in the K.P.C. Entertainment Hall on the 8th of April 2011 in Mastikatte.

Release of the Holy Granth – Bindu Otthada

The programme started with the blowing of the conch followed by chanting of Vedas by Veda murthys. Dharmabhimani Mr. Vidyananda Rao honored the Veda murthys. Sha. Bra. Dr. Siddaling Mahaswamigalu, Chief speaker of the Sabha lit the lamp.

Pujya Swamiji after releasing the Holy text ‘Bindu Otthada’ told that we spend thousands of Rupees for our day to day illnesses. But the Holy text ‘Bindu Otthada’ brought out by Sanatan Sanstha is very unique and has to be kept in each and every house.

Ms. Bavya Gowda representative of Sanatan Prabhat told that Sanatan Prabhat is a truly Hinduttva based periodical. It gives credence to ideals and not to any party or individuals. The Government of Goa and Maharashtra are planning to ban such a paper, she added. In spite of such threats, just for the sake of upholding righteousness and unifying the country and sowing the seeds of intellectual revolution, Sanatan Prabhat has been striving continuously, irrespective of resistance from quarters.

Mr. Prasanna Kamath spokesperson of the Samiti in Shivamogga, introduced Samiti, its activities and its uniqueness. He further added that any insult to Saints, National leaders, country will be opposed legally, irrespective of which party or individual has done it. Further, he added that the Samiti also gives education on righteousness through various means to the Society.

Ms. Nagamani Achar explained that Sanatan Sanstha is a spiritual organisation and explains everything in a scientific manner, the celebrations of festivals, importance of Kuldevta among 33 crore deities, how and where to chant, etc. are explained. She explained as to how on the one side the Government is taking extra care of anti nationals like Ajmal Kasab and Afzal Guru and organisations like Sanatan Sanstha which are striving for bringing in righteousness and unification of the country are targeted to be banned. We are mute spectators to denigration of saints, terrorism, conversion, etc. Since we have been always fighting on the lines of caste, creed groups etc. If the present situation continues we may come to a stage where we will find it difficult to call ourselves a Hindu. So we should unite at that moment where is any offence against any Hindu irrespective of our caste, creed, etc is seen.

To get Hindu Rashtra we should be united – Mr. Mohan Gowda

Mr. Mohan Gowda touched on the present state of Hindus and told that on a cursory glance around the world we can see that all the religions have their own countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan etc. for Muslims where as America, Australia, Italy, Britain, etc. for Christians, Israel for Jews. But for Hindus Hindustan was the only country and our Governments have declared it as secular and seen to it that Hindus do not have their own country and issues like terrorism, conversion and the acts of the Government to demolish temples treating them as unauthorized are altogether different. The same Government is supporting the construction of churches / masjids and also financing 100 crores for teaching of Arabic while the national language gets only 10 crore and Sanskrit does not get a single Rupee. Terrorists are sneaking in and staying within the country. But our Government is not asking them or doing anything about it. If this situation continues we may have to be like foreigners in our own Hindustan. To get Hindustan, first we should unite, he concluded.

Pujya Swamiji praised the Samiti members for the aim and the means with which they are striving to bring in Ram Rajya. He stressed the need for the traditional Bharatiya system of education in schooling to be inculcated. Our rich Hindu Heritage and culture is vanishing because of the blind aping of the western culture. On the one hand the country is surrounded by terrorists where as on the other hand the politicians have become corrupt. Our country requires kings like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in this hour of crisis. He requested all in the audience to strive towards this goal. Pujya Swamiji also requested the Dharmabhimanis to spread the Divine Knowledge to as many and get Divine Grace.

Importance of the Mastikatte

The demon named Vrishabhasura was terrorising the gods and they went to Lord Vishnu to request Him to kill Vrishabhasura. Vishnu in turn took the form of a Lion and killed the demon and thereby protected the Gods. The form taken by Lord Vishnu was with severe anger and sage Agastya requested the Lord to order Lord Hanuman to bring Goddess Lakshmi from river Ganges and consecrate for pooja at that very place. After this action the Lords anger reduced. And the deity has come to be known as Shanthalakshmi.

The town named as Vyaghra Shilapura or Hulikal (meaning Lion Stone town) known for healing those who are mentally afflicted by the darshan of this deity Shanthalakshmi.  Mastikatte is a Satellite Town, a part of this Historical Place.  This Town consists of the Varahi Hydro Electric Colony and other residential areas nearby.
