Gold and silver ornaments stolen from two temples in Paingin

Paingin (Maharashtra) : In the local temples of Sri Narasimha and Sri Nav Durga at Mahalwada in Paingin village, incidents of theft were reported in the night of 11th April, Monday. The thieves robbed gold and silver ornaments from these temples which were worth about Rs. 5 lakhs. Silver ornaments on the wooden idol of Sri Narasimha amounting to about Rs. 2 lakhs and ornaments worth Rs. 3 lakhs from the idol of Sri Nav Durga Devi were found stolen, informed the police. The wooden idol of Sri Narasimha was thrown outside and wooden work in the temple was damaged. The police patrolling the area noticed the theft at 3.00 a.m. after which they woke up the local people to inform them about the incident.

There was an attempt of theft at Sri Parashuram Temple in Paingin on 7th April as a result the police became alert; even then, theft occurred in two temples on the same day.
