‘Akshay Trutiya’ is on 7th May 2019. ‘Akshay Trutiya’ is one of the 3-1/2 very auspicious days in Hindu Dharma. Every second of this day is auspicious. Offerings made on this day and Havan (sacred fire) performed on this day never wane; it means one gets its fruits; therefore, many people make offerings on this day on large scale.
1. Significance of Satpaatre Daan (donation to deserving person) !
It is the duty of every person to donate for deserving cause/person, as per Hindu Dharma. Donating to deserving means donating for activities carried out for protection of ‘Sat’. Making offerings results in increasing merits; while making such offerings to deserving person/cause leads to even spiritual benefits, along with merits. The following types of offerings can be made on ‘Akshay Trutiya’.
2. Types of offerings
A. Donation of money : Dharma has come under stupor in prevailing period. Hindus have become unrighteous due to lack of Dharmashikshan. They have lost love and respect towards own Dharma because of not getting proper knowledge of Dharma. In such difficult condition of Dharma, working for revival of Dharma has become need of the hour. Therefore, donating to Saints engaged in Dharmaprasar; to organizations working for protection of nation and Dharma is the most superior kind of Daan as per times. Sanatan Sanstha has been creating awareness amongst people towards Dharma matters. Donations made for such organizations will be used for revival of Dharma.
B. Giving knowledge : Treasure of books published by Sanatan on various subjects is an eternal wealth of knowledge. These books not only give knowledge, explained in easy language, to readers; but they also help in furthering their faith towards Dharma. This treasure of books imparting eternal knowledge of Dharma can be considered to be the best medium of spreading knowledge; therefore, on the day of ‘Akshay Trutiya’, by giving knowledge through such treasure of books, will help at spiritual level along with gaining of merits. These books can be given to own relatives and friends; so also for school-college libraries and public libraries, for spreading spirituality.
