Roha (Maharashtra):  Memorandum demanding cancellation of the proposed anti-superstitions Act as it will jeopardize Dharmacharan of Hindus, was submitted to the guardian Minister of Raigad District Mr. Sunil Tatkare on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). Mr. Tatkare had come to attend the Konkan Marathi Literary Meet when HJS members called on him.

Mr. Tatkare said on seeing the memorandum, “Now the Act has been modified. Have you seen that?” Mr. Prakash Malondkar of HJS said, “Only one word ‘Vaidu’ has been changed from the draft of the Act presented in the year 2005 and all other clauses have been kept as it is. The existing laws have clauses giving more stringent punishment to the offences committed under this Act. We have enclosed the relevant information to the memorandum.” Mr. Tatkare assured to study the proposed Act and convey HJS views to the Government. Mr. Kisan Ghag, district executive of Jankalyan Samiti, RSS activists, H. B. P. Shelake Maharaj of Warakari Sangh, Sanatan Sanstha’s Prakash More and Aditya More were present on the occasion.
