Tribal community’s Temple at Mahadevkhori (Dist. Amaravati) is destroyed

Amaravati (Maharashtra) : Tribal community’s temple on the land of Forest Department at Mahadevkhori was damaged by unknown miscreants. The above news has been published by Nagpur edition of ‘Dainik Lokmat’. The all-India Tribal Development Council (AITDC) has warned the Police Commissioner of staging agitations if action is not taken against the miscreants within two days. (Hindu temples are the source of divine energy. Congratulations to AITDC for giving warning to the police with a demand to take action against the attackers. – Editor SP)

A delegation of AITDC called on the Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and submitted a representation. Temple of ‘Kunwara Bhivsan, Fadapen (Big God) and Mata Dai’, the worshipped Deity of tribals has been located on the hill of the Forest Department since the year 1977. The tribals perform ‘puja’ in this temple regularly. In the night of 14th April, both the ‘chabutara (raised seats)’ in the temple were destroyed and the idol was thrown out. A complaint has been lodged with the Fraserpura Police Station on 15th April; but no arrests have been made so far in this connection.

Within two days, the police should hunt the culprits, who have desecrated the Deities and case should be filed against them under Prevention of oppression of Tribals Act as also for hurting their religious sentiments, are the demands made in the representation.
