Opposition to the proposed anti-superstitions Act

Pen (Maharashtra) : A memorandum was submitted by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to the Tehsildar and MLA against the proposed anti-superstitions Act. Many Hindu Saints have lashed at the superstitions while impressing upon people the importance of faith and devotion. They have tilted people towards Dharma / righteousness and are still carrying on their mission. Even then, few atheists are pressurizing the Government for passing anti-superstitions Act that will impose restrictions on ‘Dharmacharan’ of Hindus. HJS has been fighting against the Act, in lawful manner, for past 8 years; but the Government is trying to pass such Act without consulting any Dharmaguru or HJS. HJS has been, therefore, holding demonstrations at various places to oppose the proposed Act and protest against the Government. As a part of this movement, a meeting was held at Sri Rameshwar Mandir in Pen for condemning the Act. A memorandum signed by 500 devout Hindus was submitted to the Tehsildar Mr. Pilankar of Pen and the local MLA Dhairyashil Patil. Tehsildar Pilankar assured to forward the memorandum for necessary action and Mr. Patil promised to oppose the Bill in Legislative Assembly.

Mr. Anil Darekar, Mr. Thule and Mr. Sunil Modi of MNS, H. B. P. Bhopatrao Maharaj of Warakari Sampradaya, Mr. Chandrakant Bapat of Mandir Samiti, Mr. Arun Bhoir of Sanatan Sanstha and members of HJS viz. Mr. Jagannath Jambhale, Mr. Devidas Mhatre, Mr. Vasudev Mhatre, Mr. Sunil Savale, Mr. Ghanashyam Desai, Mr. Pandurang Andre and devout Hindus were present on the occasion.
