Bodhan (Nizamabad, Andhra Pradesh) : The impact of Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha was seen in Bodhan town. A devout Hindu took initiative to remove the idols of Sri Ganesh which were left without immersing properly in government junior college ground. Many idols of Sri Ganesh were inside a man made pond in which people used to immerse the idols. After the Hindu Dharmasabha on 22nd February a meeting was called on 24th february to discuss this issue. In the meeting the local people agreed to compell the local administration to remove the idols and properly immerse them in a fresh-water lake.
Mr. Trishul Singh, a proud Hindu |
Among the few Hindus who came forward, Mr. Trishul Singh is the proud Hindu who took the main initiative. The sabha inspired him to do so and with the help of HJS’ signature campaign a memorandum was given to the Muncipal Commissioner. Mr. Singh called the media to cover this and later on with the help of labours and a tractor he cleaned up the whole pond. The task took three days from 18 to 20th April and each day at least three to four hours. Mr. Singh himself was present from morning 6 o’clock to the sunny afternoon. He made sure that all the idols are removed in a given time.
The Electronic and the Print media covered the event through out the district. Next day the issue became the talk of the bodhan town and many Hindus called HJS members and greeted them for the success.
The idols were made of plaster of paris and therefore most of them were not completely immersed. Even the paintings of the idols were on. Before the task devout Hindus prayed the Sri Ganesh and one by one around 100 to 150 idols were removed from the pond. The devout Hindus have now planned to submit a memorandum to the collector so that this should not repeat again.
On February 22 when Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha was held in the same college ground then the matter was addressed by the HJS’ Mr. Vinay Panvalkar to the devout Hindus. Taking to that an account some devout Hindus promised to stop this denigration but later on only one devout Hindu came up with a plan and cleaned the complete place. Actually before the sabha the local devout Hindus didn’t even know about this act of denigration which was done by them. (Other Hindus should learn from Mr. Trishul Singh and serve Dharma with a same eagerness !)
