USA: Sri Venkateswara Temple of Colorado (SVTC) in Castle Rock (USA) is holding its inauguration events on May 6-7-8.

These will include muhoortham, prayers, homams, utsavams, etc. Spread over eight acres, its mission includes: "Provide Hindu religious services as per Vedic traditions".

Meanwhile, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, applauded efforts of Temple management and Castle Rock and surrounding area community for this wonderful Hindu temple complex.

Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, further said that it was important to pass on Hindu spirituality, concepts and traditions to coming generations amidst so many distractions in the consumerist society and hoped that this new Temple would help in this direction. Zed stressed that instead of running after materialism; we should focus on inner search and realization of Self and work towards achieving moksh (liberation), which was the goal of Hinduism.

According to reports, this Temple strictly adheres to the principles of Agama Sastras as described in Vedas under the directives of experts from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams of India. It also runs a SVTC School of Fine Arts "to teach the rich cultural heritage of Hinduism through Music, Dance, Drama & Yoga", which includes classes in Carnatic Music, Sanskrit, Tamil, Vedas, Yoga, Dance, Mridangam, Tabla, and Telugu. V.J. Chukkapalli and Dr. Gupta Kuna are Chairman and Treasurer respectively of the Board of Trustees of the Temple.

Town of Castle Rock, incorporated in 1881, has been ranked number one by Family Circle magazine among the “Best Towns for Families”, while Forbes magazine listed it at number five on “America’s 25 Best Places To Move”. Notable people associated with Castle Rock include: actress Amy Adams, National Football League linebacker Jim Cottrell, musicians Nelson Rangell and Tom Hamilton, professional golfer Gary Hallberg, etc.  Paul Donahue, Clark Hammelman, and Mark Stevens are Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem and Town Manager respectively.
