Chhatrapati Shivaraya was an ideal king in every field right from navy, intelligence agency, forts and their management, politics, modernity and foresight ! – Mr. Ramesh Shinde, HJS

Sangli (Maharashtra): Today, USA is being praised for going to Pakistan and eliminating Osama Bin Laden; but Chhatrapati Shivaraya with the help of only 280 ‘mawlas’, entered ‘Lal Mahal’amd taught a lesson to Shahiste Khan despite thousands of soldiers deployed by Shahiste Khan for his protection. Let it be chopping off the fingers of Shahiste Khan or slaying Afzal Khan or setting himself free in Agra, in all such incident, his secret agency was most competent. Chhatrapati Shivaraya was an ideal in every field like navy, forts management, politics, foresight or modernity. The above views were expressed by Mr. Ramesh Shinde, the spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for the States of Maharashtra and Gujarat while speaking on the topic of ‘Chhatrapati Shivaraya’. The lecture was organized on 8th May at Late Rajan Khot Chowk on Bus-station road.

Mr. Shinde said, “Chhatrapati cut off the hands and legs of traitors like Khandoji Khopde, Raje – Patil etc. to punish the traitors immediately; whereas, Afzal Khan is not executed even after 6 years. The illegal construction of Afzal Khan’s tomb and other encroachments has not yet been demolished despite High Court’s orders.  While filing an affidavit, the Government refers to Chhatrapati Shivaji in singular, without giving due respect, and mentions that ‘Chhatrapati slew Afzal Khan by treachery.’ History of such brave kings is being wiped out to take care of sentiments of non-Hindus. Hindus should, therefore, wake up and come together.”

The program was convened and compeered by Mr. Vinayak Edke, the President of ‘Shiva-jayanti Festival celebrations and Gavbhag-chief of Shiv Sena. The program was also attended by Mr. Nimesh Karande, the founder of ‘Jai Shivaraya Group’, Mr. Nitin Suryavanshi, its President, Mr. Deepak Jagadale, the Chief executive, Pawan Bankar, Vasant Hankare, Abhinandan Chavan, Mr. Sachin Pawar of ‘Shri Shiva-pratishthan’, Mr. Abhimanyu Bhosale, BJP – Youth Faction’s city-President, and many devotees of Shivaji Raje. Mr. Haridas Padalkar, dy-city-chief of Shiv Sena gave introductory speech. After Shri. Ramehs Shinde’s lecture, Mr. Arun Kambale staged a solo-act on ‘Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje’.

1. Before the program, Mr. Pandurang Kashid gave a demonstration of various outdoor games.

2. Mr. Shinde said that it was not proper to have liquor and dance in such programs as such incidents mar the celebrations

3. Mr. Shinde won over the members of audience with his oratory as he presented different examples to make people understand the subject.
