Pune (Maharashtra) : The order issued by the Supreme Court was misconstrued and temples were demolished in Maharashtra like in the State of Karnataka. The Supreme Court has issued an order to take action against unauthorized temples built after the year 2009; but temples constructed before were also demolished. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) reminded one of Mughal regime when PMC administration demolished 105 temples in the darkness of the night. Presently, PMC seems to have taken a break from taking such action but hurt devout Hindus are still enraged over the earlier action of PMC. A meeting was held in this connection by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) at Rahalkar Ram Mandir. It was resolved in the meeting to be united for returning the attacks on Hindu temples and to provide protection to Hindu temples in future.

Attack on temples is attack on Hindu Dharma – Mr. Sunil Ghanavat

Mr. Sunil Ghanavat, the District-coordinator of HJS for Pune, Nagar and Nashik districts said, “There is social and spiritual significance of temples. Attacks on temples are like attacks on Hindu Dharma. It is, therefore, necessary that Hindus unite and take action, in lawful manner, against such attacks.” Mr. Amol Joshi, a trustee of ‘Pavan Maruti Mandir’ made an appeal to the attendees for bringing at least 5 temple trustees with them for the next meeting. Representatives of Saibaba Mandir at Datta Wadi, Shani Mandir at Kasba Peth, Sri Mahalakshmi Mandir at Narpatgiri Chowk, Sainath Pratishthan from Mahasrhinagar were present. A follow up meeting to decide about the further course of action has been fixed on 20th May. HJS has made an appeal to call 9595082030 for more information.
