‘Rakhi’ is tied on the day of ‘Raksha Bandhan’ by a girl for her brother wishing for his progress and expectation that he would protect her whenever required. In the background of ‘Raksha Bandhan’, therefore, Sanatan Sanstha and ‘Ranaragini’ Division of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) tied ‘rakhis’ for devout Hindu activists, devout Hindus, Editors, reporters, well-wishers, police officers etc in various cities of Maharashtra. Yavatmal
Sanatan Sanstha and HJS undertook the drive at Yavatmal, Vani, Karanja and Ner in the district under which ‘rakhi’ was tied for District Collector Ajay Gulhane, District Superintendent of Police Rajkumar, 3 Tehasildars, 2 Thanedars, 10 eminent personalities from newspaper field, 9 well-wishers and devout Hindu activists from 4 political parties. Discussions were also held with the District Collector on HJS drive of maintaining honour of national flags.

Sou. Mohini Mandhare of Ranaragini Division of HJS tied ‘rakhi’ for senior Police Inspector Satish Gaikwad of Kalamboli police station. On 15th August, PI Satish Gaikwad was conferred with President’s award. HJS also congratulated him for the same.

‘Rakhis’ were tied for Editors, police, devout Hindu activists and other dignitaries at Karad (Satara) and Kolhapur in western Maharashtra. Dr. Prashant Amrutkar, Dy. Police Superintendent of Kolhapur said that activities undertaken by HJS were need of the hour.
