Nipani : During a meeting to coordinate between Ganesh festival committees, it was decided to celebrate this festival as per ‘Dharma-shaastra’; to meet in next month for planning for celebration of festivals coming in that month and to organize lecture by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for creating awareness towards celebration of festivals as per science. On 25th August, HJS held meeting of Ganesh festival committees at Maharshi Valmik Bhavan of ‘Koli Samaj Seva Sangh’ in which the above resolve was made. Shri. Kiran Duse, District Coordinator of HJS for Kolhapur explained the purpose of holding such meeting.
Advocate Prakash Khondre of ‘Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad’ said, “Green Tribunal’ has passed a verdict that Shri Ganesh idol made of paper pulp causes pollution; therefore, festival committees should not give any response to appeal made by anti-Dharma organizations. It is also necessary that idols of Shri Ganesh should be immersed in flowing water.” Sou. Rajashree Tiwari of HJS and Dr. (Sou.) Shilpa Kothavale of Sanatan Sanstha also addressed the meeting. Representatives of various Ganesh festival committees from Jatrat, Nanganur, Barbhai, Nipani, Ammalzari such as P.T.M Group, Ashtavinayak Mandal, Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Mandal, Navaratra Utsav Mandal, Shri Kisan Ganeshotsav Mandal, Shri Hanuman Ganesh Mandal etc attended the meeting.
Feedback given by representatives of Ganesh festival committees
1. Shri. Amol Chendake, Nanganur – Had read a handbill of HJS against bursting of crackers. Our festival committee therefore, has stopped bursting crackers since last ten years, realizing ill effects of crackers.
2. Shri. Vikram Kogale, Om-Ganesh Mitra Mandal – Everyday Shri Ganesh ‘aarti’ is being performed since installation of Shri Ganesh idol in temple.
3. Shri. Pravin Badave – Generation without any love and respect towards own Dharma is being created due to lack of ‘Dharmashikshan’ amongst Hindus. It is therefore, necessary that even Ganesh Mandals (festival committees) are imparted ‘Dharmashikshan’.
4. Shri. Vikramaditya Dhumal – Distributed books giving information on revolutionaries and on ‘love jihad’ during Ganesh festival period.
Highlights
1. Flex-boards and posters on science of Shri ‘Ganesh-pujan’, ideal manner of celebrating this festival etc were displayed at the venue of the meeting.
2. Ganesh festival committees asked for handbills on ideal manner of celebrating Ganesh festival, after the meeting was over.
3. Many representatives said that they didn’t know about the science; therefore, they invited HJS activists for obtaining information on the same.
