Nagpur : Dy. Commissioner (DC) of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NGMC) was submitted representation on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) demanding prevention of denigration of Shri Ganesh idols happening during Ganesh festival. He underlined important points while going through the representation and said that action taken by Mumbai Municipal Corporation to spread net in lakes for carrying immersion in that part was appropriate.

On listening to pollution created after immersion of idols made from paper pulp and plaster of paris, he said, “Idols made of clay are good. NGMC is also trying to spread the message. NGMC will be erecting stalls at various places in the city, for making idols from clay. You can also set up your Cell in these stalls with the permission of Nagpur’s Mayor, for creating awareness amongst people.”

DC also gave positive response to include HJS in action committee of NGMC while promising to take initiative in making efforts on further points mentioned in the representation.
