Navi Mumbai : Representation was submitted to Mayor Jayawant Sutar against immersion of Ganesh-idols in artificial water tanks and against use of paper pulp for making Ganesh idols. He promised to cooperate. Similar representation was also submitted to Commissioner Shri. Annasaheb Misal of Navi Mumbai.

Borivali (East) : Representation was handed over to municipal councilor, Sou. Riddhi Khursunge of Shiv Sena explaining reasons for immersion of Shri Ganesh idols in flowing water and not in artificial water tank. VCD was also shown on the subject.

‘Information given on above is essential. Shri Ganesh idols should be immersed in flowing water; but artificial water tanks have to be provided due to certain problems faced by Municipality. It is always good if natural source is available for immersion. We are trying to see the possibility of making available idols made of clay instead of plaster of paris (PoP).’

Lecture held at Ghatkopar on ideal Ganesh festival celebration and reality

Mumbai, 3rd September – Lecture was held at ‘Maheshwari Vidyalaya and Junior College (Commerce)’ of Maneklal Mehta Municipal School. Lecture was held on ideal way of celebrating Ganesh festival and reality. Shri. Satish Sonar of Sanatan Sanstha explained about denigration of Shri Ganesh, anti-Dharma donation of idols, false propaganda by so-called environmentalists about water pollution, malpractices in celebration of this festival and ways of celebrating Ganesh festival in ideal manner with full of devotion etc. Shri. Baban Valunj of Sanatan made an appeal to all participants to take active part in Dharmakarya.  Everyone responded well to such appeal. The program was attended by 41 people.
