‘Uphold your self-respect throughout your life and die with your self-respect intact’; let us take this message home – Mrs. Prachi Juvekar

Jalagaon (Maharashtra): There are a lot of similarities between Swatantryaveer Savarkar and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Shivaji Maharaj took an oath at the age of 16 years to eliminate 5 kingdoms and Savarkar took an oath at the age of 14 years to fight for freedom till his last breath. Both of them united people from various castes and fought for freedom and both of them had taken an oath that they would live with self-respect and die also with their self-respect intact. Let us also go home with the same oath today.  The above appeal was made by Mrs. Prachi Juvekar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in a program held by Hindu Mahasabha at Navi Peth on the occasion of birth anniversary of Veer Savarkar. Advocate Govind Tiwari, the President of Hindu Mahasabha, Mr. Gulab Patil, its District-President, Mr. Chandanseth Rathi of Red Cross Society, Mr. Janardan Lad and Uday Datt were the other dignitaries who shared the dais with her. Adv. Tiwari inaugurated the board of new branch of Hindu Mahasabha at Navi Peth.

The program started with lighting of lamp. Mr. Ganesh Agrawal threw light on the necessity of Hindu Mahasabha in his introductory speech and establishment of this organization so also contribution of Veer Savarkar for Hindu Mahasabha (‘sabha’). Mr. Chandanseth Rathi expressed his wish for increase in the activities of the organization in his speech. Mr. Govind Tiwari informed about the very first complaint lodged by the ‘sabha’ against the verdict passed by the Court in case of ‘Ram-janma-bhoomi (birthplace of Srirama)’ in October 2010 and the movement started by them against Sachar Commission. He also clarified that the decision of the lower Court has since been stayed by the Supreme Court. Miss Priyanka Joshi of Sanatan Sanstha sang the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ while concluding the program.
