Suspense of idols in artificial water tank !

Grave denigration of donated Shri Ganesh idols by throwing them from truck under the bridge has been exposed in Pune during last two years !

Why doesn’t the Government impose ban on idol-donation drive to prevent denigration? How can idols remain on ghat after heavy rains and river has so much water?

One truck of Municipal Corporation was brought to S.M. Joshi Bridge for idol-immersion around 4.00 p.m. There were many Ganesh- idols loaded on this truck which were covered with yellow tarpaulin. These idols were to be immersed in river water; but municipal employees didn’t allow them to immerse and the truck was sent back. On detailed inquiry, it was found that the idols were brought from artificial water tanks though initially, proper answer was not given by employees. They said that on reduction of water level, idols remain on bank of river and senior officers take decision on those Shri Ganesh-idols. They claimed ignorance on the subject and closed the matter.
