Satara (Maharashtra) : Devout Hindus immerse Ganesh murtis im the traditional way

HJS campaign to immerse Ganesh murtis in flowing water bears fruit ! : Not a single Ganesh murti was donated throughout Satara district !

The Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti’s anti Dharmik campaign to donate the Ganesh murtis failed miserably in its own backyard! Congratulations to the devout Hindus who chose to immerse the murtis in the Dharmik way!

Satara (Maharashtra) : On the fifth day of the Ganeshotsav celebrations, the entire district of Satara witnessed Shri Ganesh murtis being immersed with great pomp and splendor. The devotees of Shri Ganesh immersed the murtis in flowing water as prescribed by the scriptures. While not even a single murti was ‘donated’, the number of people who chose tanks to immerse the murtis was also negligible.

HJS’ work praised by the police and gram-panchayat members of Sangam Mahuli

In the Sangam Mahuli area (Satara District, Maharashtra), the HJS had campaigned among the devotees of Shri Ganesh for murtis to be immersed in the traditional way (in flowing water). Since a heavy influx of devotees was expected for the immersion of murtis, HJS had set up an emergency assistance stall at the immersion point. The stall was used to convey important instructions to the devotees coming there. The Sangam Mahuli gram-panchayat helped set up the stall. The gram-panchayat as well as the police praised HJS for the campaign.

100% murtis in Wai immersed in flowing waters !

No ‘donate the murti’ campaign by the city corporation this year !

The Wai city corporation holds a donate the murti campaign each year during Ganeshotsav. This year the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti approached the Wai city corporation and submitted a memorandum regardig immersion of Ganesh murtis. They were also shown a video on the ill-effects of donating Ganesh murtis. Following this, the president of the city corporation assured the HJS that they would not be holding the ‘donate the murti’ campaign this year. As a result, every single Ganesh murti in Wai was immersed in flowing waters.

Negligible use of tanks built to immerse murtis in Karad !

Every year the administration builds large number of tanks in Karad, specifically for the immersion of murtis. This year however, following HJS campaigns on immersion, the Ganesh devotees chose to skip the tanks and instead opted to immerse the murtis in flowing water.
