Baramati (Pune District) : This year, to avoid hurting the sentiments of Hindus the municipal corporation here decided not to accept Ganesh murtis in lieu of immersion. They also clarified that no one will be forced to handover the nirmalya (flowers, garlands etc.). As a result, this year, every single Ganesh murti here was immersed in flowing waters.
