Devout Hindus and local residents participating in ‘Shriram-naam dindi’ at Nandihalli

Nandihalli (Dist Belgaum) : On 7th October, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) took out a procession, chanting ‘Shriram-naam’ on the occasion of Navaratri festival which was spontaneously joined by local residents. The procession was started from Shri Lakshmi Mandir after ‘Shriram-palakhi-pujan’. ‘Dhvaj-pujan’ was carried out by Shri. Maruti Lokur, a devout Hindu and Shriram’s picture-frame’s ‘pujan’ was performed by Shri. and Sou. Sudhir Raghoche. Shri. Shivanna Gaud Patil, the President –Gram-Panchayat took down the ‘Dhvaj’ near Shri Lakshmi Mandir. 410 Shriram devotees had joined the ‘dindi’. Sou. Ujjwala Gawade of HJS gave guidance on conclusion of procession.

Highlights

1. Warkaris joining the procession were singing devotional songs with chimes and ‘mrudunga’.

2. Bullock cart was decorated in traditional manner and young seekers seated in this cart in attires of Prabhu Shriramchandra – Lakshman drew attention of all people.

3. Women carrying ‘kalash’ and playing ‘phugadis’ were also the speciality of this procession.
