Panvel: The Congress Government ruling the State of Maharashtra is planning to take over management of temples on recommendations of the 15th law Commission by passing an Act to that effect. The second meeting to protest against the policy was held at Virupaksha temple by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.

It was decided to meet the Chief Minister at the earliest and convey our displeasure at the proposed Act. All trustees were unanimous in their resolve to quash the Act. They have sent even letters to the Chief Minister in this regard.
