Mumbai: Taking cognisance of the representation by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, (HJS), the Assistant Commissioners of 24 departments of the Municipality have been intimated, ‘Take the necessary action to stop insult to the National Flag’, in their meeting. All the departments too will be informed about it. The Chief Minister will be requested by sending a letter in this regard, assured Mayor, Mrs. Shraddha Jadhav.
Representation stating, ‘Stop the sale of plastic National Flags on the occasion of Independence Day’, was handed over to the Mayor on behalf of HJS. She was talking to the delegates submitting the representation. Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, Coordintor of Mumbai, thane , Raigad Dists.,HJS , Mr. Satish Sonar, Mr. Milind Poshe, Mrs Vidya Kamerkar, and others were present in Mayor’s office at that time. ‘’‘Shops and Establishments’ department of Municipality should ban the sale of plastic National flags. The garbage picking Department should collect the National flags strewn around and immerse them with honour as per ‘The Flag Code’ and Anti-Enroachment Department should stop the illegal sale of plastic Flags on roads and other places”, said Mr. Vatkar. Deputy Commissioner of the Department of ‘Shops and Establishments’ also was present at the venue.
