Thane (Maharashtra) :
Plastic National Flags are sold everywhere on the occasion of Independence Day and later they are found  strewn over on roads, gutters, etc. after the Flag Hoisting ceremony. This causes dishonour to the National Flag. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) is trying lawfully to stop this dishonour for the last several years. This year too memorandums demanding to stop the sale of plastic National Flags and to stop the ridiculing of the National Flag, are submitted to Mr. Amol Yadav, Deputy Collector of Thane and Mr. Bipin Singh, associate Police Commissioner as well as to the Police Station at Vishnunagar, Dombivali on behalf of HJS. A circular banning the plastic National Flags by Maharashtra Government and a picture showing workers of the Samiti handing over to the Police Commissioner, the National Flags collected from the shops are attached to the memorandum. Despite the circular of the Government the sale of these plastic National Flags has not been stopped yet. To sell the National Flags in this way is a punishable offence by Law. It is also stated in the memorandum that strict action should be taken against those who sell the plastic National Flags. Mr. Sandesh Vichare, President of Hindu Mahasabha, Thane, and Mr, Swapnil Jagushte, Mr. Amol Desai of Vande Mataram Pratisthan, Mr. Abhijit Bhojane of HJS, and other workers were present while presenting the memorandum at Thane. Mr. Harishchandra Parab. Mr. Kunal Chowdhari, Mr. Janardan Kulkarni, Mr. Arun Kulkarni, HJS, and other Dharmabhimanis were present at Dombivali.
